FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel which is used in spark-ignition internal combustion engines. Proposed fuel composition for spark-ignition internal combustion engines contains 50 to 90 vol % absolute ethanol, 10 to 30 vol % liquid mixture of hydrocarbons, 5 to 15 vol % ether and 1 vol % combustion promoter. The combustion promoter used in each version can be cyclohexylnitrate or 2-ethylhexylnitrate. The combustion promoter used in the second version nitrites of C4-C6 alcohols. The combustion promoter used in the third version is a mixture of cyclohexylnitrate or 2-ethylhexylnitrate with nitrites of C1-C6 alcohols.
EFFECT: improved combustion and shorter burning time, which allows for eliminating the main disadvantage of fuel containing over 50% ethanol, and, as a result, increasing power of an engine running on this fuel.
