FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method for reduction of fuel consumption and effect at environment in two-stroke crosshead engine has one lubrication system, which contains system oil, and other lubrication system, which contains cylinder oil. Method consists in the fact that fresh or partially spent system oil is obtained from abovementioned engine, at least one friction modifier is added to at least part of obtained fresh or partially spent system oil, at the same time addition of friction modifier reduces coefficient of friction of obtained system oil, as a result, system oil is produced with a reduced friction coefficient, system oil is supplied with a reduced friction coefficient into mentioned engine, additionally specified first amount of produced system oil or specified first amount of system oil from engine is drained, besides drain is carried out continuously or periodically, cylinder oil is created on the basis of drained system oil by means of detection of at least one main parametre of drained system oil, at least one desired parametre of cylinder oil is identified, and one main parametre of drained system oil is controlled by means of drained system oil mixing with at least one additive that modifies base number, as a result cylinder oil is produced, which is supplied to cylinders. System for method realisation is described.
