FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: cylinder-piston assembly with axial drive comprises cylinder (2) and piston (3) arranged to reciprocate axially along cylinder (2) between first piston position wherein volume of cylinder chamber (18) is maximum, and second piston position wherein aforesaid volume is minimum. Driving element (50) reciprocates axially along cylinder and is coupled with piston (3) via piston rod (4). The latter has its first end (4') and/or second end (4") coupled, via flexible device (6), with piston (3) or driving element (50) to axially move along piston (3) or driving element (5) against flexible element pre-stressing force. With piston (3) moving into second position towards head face wall (12), piston body (16) comes in contact with head face wall (12) of groove (10). Further on, driving element (5) moves against flexible element pre-stressing force to be braked.
EFFECT: reduced probability of damaging piston or cylinder.
