FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrode production and can be used in producing electrodes in "П"-like electric resistance furnaces. Proposed method comprises laying carbon products in parallel stands between current leads, electrical connection of current leads by jumpers perpendicular to stand axes and heating aforesaid products to graphitisation temperature by passing electric current thought heated products. Note here that jumpers represent copper busses flexibly coupled with current leads. Aforesaid jumpers can be arranged outside the furnace. Graphite current lead contact surfaces and those of copper jumpers are mechanically processed and pressed together with constant force not less than 15 kg/cm2. Carbon product stands are squeezed on both sides with the help of hydraulic cylinders with their forced transmitted via current leads.
EFFECT: higher reliability, longer life, reduced losses.
