FIELD: electrical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric resistance furnaces and can be used for thermal processing of materials. The electric resistance furnace comprises a power source, two current-carrying cores, each located in its own housing or in one common housing, parallel to the side walls of the housing and electrically connected to current-carrying electrodes, which are located in opposite end walls of the housing. The conductive electrodes on one end side of the housing are connected to each other by a current conductor, and each of the conductive electrodes on the other end side of the housing is connected to opposite terminals of the power source. The power source is divided into two sections connected in series by a jumper connected by a busbar to the said current conductor, which closes the current-conducting electrodes, and the other two conductive electrodes, connected to different current-carrying cores, are connected to opposite terminals of different sections of the power source.
EFFECT: separate power control in each core and increased productivity of the electric furnace.
