FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: cell has a cylinder shaped case, at the end faces of which flat and spherical reflecting surfaces are formed. A light beam with finite aperture, after multiple reflections in a defined sequence, comes out of the cell at the input side, and the number of passages in the system is determined through calculation.
EFFECT: design of a miniature multipass cell with given optical path length.
