FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: film system has a substrate body and a film body. The film body has two or more layers and has a layer (32) of liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) which contains liquid-crystal material. The substrate body of the film system has a layer (41) for aligning liquid crystals. To make a personalised, optically variable element with polarisation properties, the film body is deposited on the substrate body. The alignment layer (41, 75, 76) of the substrate body is personalised before depositing the film body onto the substrate body. The film body is laid onto the personalised alignment layer (41, 75, 96) of the substrate body such that, the LCP layer (32, 65, 85) of the film body lies on the personalised alignment layer of the substrate body in order to align liquid crystals of the LCP layer of the film body, after which the LCP layer is fixed.

EFFECT: easier production and repairing while maintaining level of protection from copying, wearing resistance and easier use, obtained from mass production.
