SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a protective element for protection of precious objects, to the method for manufacturing of such protective element and also to counterfeit-proof paper and an information medium with such protective element. The protective element comprises the following components arranged above each other - a thin film element with colour variation effect and a relief structure made in a stamped varnish layer. Some sections of the stamped varnish layer with the relief structure are metallised. On the relief structure of the partially metallised stamped varnish layer there is a levelling transparent varnish layer, the refraction index of which substantially corresponds to the refraction index of the stamped varnish layer.
EFFECT: proposed protective element provides for high extent of counterfeit protection.
