FIELD: thermal processing of toxic ecologically hazardous industrial products. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes heating of industrial toxic wastes in the presence of gaseous oxidizer and melt of inorganic compounds reacting with processed product with subsequent removal of reaction products. Heating is carried out at temperature of 1300-2000 K. Oxidizer is used in form of oxygen-containing gas. Melt is used, which contains alkaline-earth metals. Processed product is fed to melt with oxygen- containing gas heated preliminarily to temperature of 2500-6000 K, and liberating gaseous products of reaction, prior to removal from reaction space, are passed through a layer of melt. The device for embodiment of the offered method has reaction and bubbling chambers separated by partition with opening in bottom part, heaters of oxidizing gas in reaction chamber, devices for metering of regulated supply of processed substance, tap hole in bubbling chamber. Reaction chamber has branch pipes, whose lower ends are located at the level below the upper edge of opening in partition, and heaters of oxidizing gas are located on the upper ends of branch pipes.
