FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: plant material from paclitaxel-containing plants is obtained first. Paclitaxel is then extracted from the plant material. Paclitaxel is subsequently extracted from the paclitaxel extract using a series of column chromatography steps to obtain at least one fraction which contains paclitaxel. Paclitaxel in the fraction obtained from column chromatography steps is crystallised.

EFFECT: using these methods, highly pure paclitaxel can be efficiently produced from different types of yew plants or its parts, containing paclitaxel independent of paclitaxel content.
