FIELD: heating systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to cooling of hot granular material subject to heat treatment in industrial furnace, for example rotary calciner for manufacturing cement clinker. Hot material is supplied from calciner to inlet grid of refrigerator, from lower compartment of which by means of channels through gaps in inlet grid there supplied is cooling air for cooling hot material with periodic supply to compressed air material located on inlet grid from separate system via pipes. When compressed air is being supplied, cooling air channels are closed, at that, compressed air is supplied through cooling air gaps in inlet grid.
EFFECT: invention will allow effective removing agglomerates and formations of "snowman" type, as well as preventing clinker dust from penetrating into lower compartment.
