FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to instrument engineering and may be used during exploitation of gas-discharge lamps in hothouse units. In order to achieve this result as per results of life tests of gas-discharge lamps of specified type, energy intensity of process of irradiation of plants using value of supply voltage is determined. During gas-discharge lamps exploitation parametres of supply voltage are formed on the basis of achievement of minimum possible values of energy intensity. Changes of integral irradiation and uniformity of light field are compensated by means of changing of radiation source suspension altitude or correction of its light distribution.
EFFECT: reduction of energy intensity.
