FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: most time-consuming operation of forming standard phase differences is carried out the preparatory stage, and determination of orientation of the object is reduced to simple physical operations of forming a matrix of measurements and searching for the matrix element with the least value. Elements of the matrix of measurements are found by calculating the difference between corresponding standard and measured phase differences of signals from spacecraft whose location is known beforehand, squaring them and summation on all possible pairs of antenna couplers and all spacecraft. The device for determining angular orientation of aircraft which realises the method has M identical reception channels, M>4 units for forming reference signals, clock generator, S correlators, S analysis units, S+1 switches, unit for initial setup of correlators, S subtracting units, memory unit, computer-conditioner, decision block, control unit, display unit, three input adjustment lines, radio navigator and an antenna coupler, connected together in a certain manner.
EFFECT: cutting on time for measuring banking and bearing angles, taking into account angle of drift and further measurement of angle of pitch.
