FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine location of radio sources from a flight-hoisting apparatus (FHA) using a goniometric-ranging method. At the preparatory stage, a video camera is mounted under the fuselage. Orientation of the antenna system of the direction-finder and the video camera in three planes relative the FHA board is considered. During operation, simultaneously with measurement of spatial parameters: azimuth θij and elevation angle βij at the j-th radio source, the location FHA in space and orientation thereof is estimated through angular parameters: roll kipsi, pitch ilpsi and inclination ζipsi. Measurement results of θij and βij are successively refined while simultaneously switching from one coordinate system to another. The positive effect is achieved by guiding the video camera using the direction-finder onto the area with the j-th radio source by associating it with elements of the surrounding relief. The apparatus for determining coordinates of a radio source which realises the method has a two-channel phase interferometre, first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth computers, a radio navigator, a device for angular orientation of the FHA, a video camera with a controller and memory, connected to each other in a certain manner.
EFFECT: high accuracy of locating a radio source.
