SUBSTANCE: according to invention, parametric array, and namely of side look radar is made of a pair of parallel linear arrays of radiating elements and a pair of parallel linear arrays of receiving elements, which comprise a rectangle from radiating and receiving elements. Signals are supplied to radiating elements and received with receiving elements. Signals are processed for obtaining signals of virtual elements located between radiating and receiving elements at equal distance from them. Signals from virtual elements are analysed for forming a radar image.

EFFECT: decreasing sizes and increasing resolution capability.
