FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to production of cultivated pearl and may be used to produce large pearls in freshwater and marine pearl oysters, and also on mollusks that create mother-of-pearl layer. Method for cultivation of pearl with specified shape and size includes creation of hole in mollusk shell, introduction of nucleus inside mollusk through produced hole, sealing of shell hole and further formation of pearl layer on nucleus. The novelty is the fact that as nucleus is introduced inside mollusk onto pallium, directed compression is carried out with the help of nucleus with gradual and simultaneous submersion of nucleus and pallium inside mollusk with the rate of 0.01 - 2 mm per day to form pearl-creating bag from pallium, afterwards directed compression is stopped.
EFFECT: possibility to cultivate large pearl, reduced mortality rate among mollusks due to absence of foreign body rejection, and also reliability and efficiency of pearl cultivation method.
