FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to production of cultivated pearl and may be used to produce large pearls on freshwater and marine pearl oysters, and also on mollusks that produce pearl layer. Method for cultivation of pearl includes making a hole in shell of butterfly mollusk, introduction of seed nucleus through produced hole inside mollusk, sealing of shell and formation of pearl layer on nucleus. The novelty is the fact that previously a plate is cut from shell wall in area, which is adjacent directly to lock and cut byssuses, then nucleus is rigidly fixed on cut plate, and plate is installed and fixed on former place, under which a free cavity has arranged temporarily due to reduction of soft tissues in the moment of plate cutting in specified area.
EFFECT: possibility to cultivate large pearls, reduced mortality rate of mollusks due to absence of pallium tissue and mollusk soft tissues traumatising, and also reliability and efficiency of method for cultivation of pearl.
