FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of iron alloys with alloying elements by “on the block” out-of-furnace melting method. The charge is prepared and loaded with an ignition mixture into a vessel for smelting, the entire surface of the fixed mass of the charge is isolated with a bulk heat-resistant layer, the reaction process is initiated, melting is carried out in this insulating layer, in which the bulk heat-resistant material of the insulating layer is used with a fraction of -10+1 mm, moreover, on the upper surface of the charge array, this layer is formed with a thickness of 72-78% of the charge array height, on the side surfaces - with a thickness of 40-48% of the width or diameter of the charge array, and at the same time, the dimensions of the charge array are increased in diameter to 55-100 cm and in height up to 80-130 cm 3 with a corresponding increase in the volume of the melted charge mass up to 0.19-1 m3 and an increase in the mass of the melted charge up to 0.3-1.8 tons.
EFFECT: invention allows smelting iron alloys from charge material obtained by enrichment of ash waste from thermal power plants while maintaining environmental cleanliness and the absence of smoke, dust and other emissions during smelting.
