FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of measurements during geophysical investigations of drilled oil and gas wells. Depending on investigations task and well type, geophysical instrument is descended on cable or on pipe column or coltubing. Well depth is calculated with allowance for medium vibration impulse running speed in hydraulic channel of well or pipe and for current time of its emission and receive. While working with geophysical instrument on cable, medium vibration impulses received over well hydraulic channel from source at collar are transformed using receivers and transmitted via logging cable to ground-based recording system. While making investigations with self-contained geophysical instruments on pipes or coltubing, current time of each medium vibration impulse emission is recorded in ground-based system, and current time of corresponding medium vibration impulses entry via pipes is recorded in geophysical instrument memory for subsequent data processing. While making geophysical investigations directly during drilling, source of medium pulse vibrations is placed in geophysical instrument. Ground-based recording system records current time of the first impulse of transmitted from medium vibration source impulse packet and current time of its arrival over hydraulic communication channel. Besides this, simultaneously with depth measuring, the operation mode of self-contained geophysical instrument is controlled by changing at least one of parametres of emitted medium vibration impulse.

EFFECT: providing possibility to measure well depth in conditions of various geophysical investigation procedures with high reliability and accuracy of received parametre measurement.
