SEMICONDUCTING JACKET FOR SOURCES AND SENSORS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01V3/00

Abstract RU 2375727 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to use of jackets or cases for sources and sensors, designed for use in an underground well, and devices (versions) which have said jackets. A case designed for use in an underground well has: a composite case which forms a cylindrical surface of rotation with an inner cavity for placing a source or a sensor, where the composite case is transparent for passage of signals to the said sensor or from the said source; a channel which is formed by the said case and passes from the inner cavity towards the outer surface of the said case; a conducting element which is placed inside the said channel. The composite case has several layers, where at least one of the layers essentially conducts uniformly in a single direction. The case is made with a uniform electrically conducting surface which forms a short circuiting circuit near the source or sensor. The device, which is designed for use in an underground well, has: a long holder; an antenna which is placed in the holder, where the antenna can transmit or receive electromagnetic energy; and a composite case which is placed around the said holder, where the case has a uniform electrically conducting surface, which forms a short circuiting circuit near the antenna. The device, which is designed for use in an underground well, has: an antenna which can transmit or receive electromagnetic energy; a composite case, a conductor which is connected to the said case for flow of electrical current through the said case.

EFFECT: reduced effect of undesirable current on signals in a well.
