FIELD: physics; radio.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to general purpose electronic circuits, and specifically to coding, decoding and converting code and can be particularly used for controlling the rotary drive of a ship antenna through angular displacements of the antenna converted to a digital code. The device for converting angle of rotation of a shaft into a code has a switch, a control unit, a rotary drive, an emitter unit, measuring and display bit maps, a photodetector unit, a converter, an amplifier, a counter, and a decoder. When an object is rotating, a predicted slowdown pulse is generated, upon arrival at the control unit of which signals are generated for switching to a positive frequency of rotation, switching off rotation, delaying slowdown and slowing down. The "STOP" instruction is executed, rotation frequency gradually falls, rotation is switches off, there is slowdown and stopping in the zero point, and effects of inertial force of rotation of the antenna on the mechanisms are minimised.
EFFECT: increased reliability and longevity of the rotary drive of the antenna due to reduced effect of inertial force of rotation at the slowdown and stopping moment, absence of mechanical impact which leads to breakdown of mechanisms, as well as increased accuracy of stopping the antenna in the zero point.
