SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication. The technical outcome is making telephone calls or sending messages with the least number of keystrokes. The outcome is achieved due to that, in the telephone, a number or address is selected from a stored list for making calls or sending messages. The list contains names and one or more numbers and/or addresses corresponding to each name, and the method includes a step where at least some of the said stored numbers are displayed, and a step for selecting one of the said displayed names. The method also includes a step for displaying the selected name in accordance with one or more default numbers and/or addresses corresponding to the selected name.

EFFECT: method of making telephone calls or sending messages with the least number of keystrokes, and which provides non-contradictory design of interaction regardless of whether a single or several numbers were entered for a given contact.
