FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises power source, contactor, armature windings, excitation windings of first and second traction DC motors, first diode, storage battery, second diode, 4th and 3rd DC traction motor armature windings, and common bus. Storage battery is connected in traction current circuit, absorbs excess voltage in starting and gets charged, at a time. During independent operation, DC traction motors change over to supply from storage battery after 6th, 2nd and 4th contactors are thrown in. Current flows from storage battery anode via 2nd contactor, armature windings, 1st and 2nd Dc traction motor excitation windings, 4th contactor, excitation windings, 4th and 3rd DC traction motor armature windings, 6th contactor and storage battery cathode. In braking, electric power is generated by DC traction motors to recharge storage battery.
EFFECT: expanded range of rolling stock independent motion and expanded operating performances.
