FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical traction systems of vehicles. DC electric traction drive comprises DC traction motor, voltage converter, insulated gate bipolar transistor, in-series connected traction motor armature winding and excitation winding, parallel to which diode is connected in non-conducting direction. Traction drive is additionally equipped with power accumulator, two additional diodes, brake resistor and eight switching elements.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of DC electric traction drive reliability.
