FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to mining industry and may be used during underground operations on coal, saliniferous, oil shale and other deposits, especially during performance of opening and slope mine workings at blowout-hazardous and explosive objects. Method of gas extraction from coal-bearing strata consists in the following: delivery mine working is thrilled to coal-bearing strata, in parallel to delivery mine working near its breast from two sides in horizontal plane drilling chambers are constructed which are increased in dimensions and from which in vertical plane from two to three boreholes are thrilled directed to adjacent strata and coal-bearing strata. Collars of these boreholes are provided with packoffs and are connected to degassing system. Boreholes drilled from drilling chambers are of large diametre, at that, degassing boreholes are drilled from boreholes of large diametre and are directed toward each other. Depth of degassing boreholes and their step-by-step arrangement is determined in compliance with gas-hydro-geologic conditions of mining of coal-bearing strata and adjacent strata and their physical mechanical properties. Besides operating-exploring and pilot boreholes are thrilled preliminary from drilling chambers, their collars are connected to degassing system.

EFFECT: method allows to perform more efficient rock mass degasation and to increase safety of construction of underground workings under complicated mining and hydrogeological conditions.
