FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: inventions refer to method of assessment of surface of cold-rolled steel. The method consists in cutting a sample for test, in grinding an estimated defect and in inspecting surface of the sample. Also the sample is cut along the whole width of the sheet and is placed on a checking table with its convex up. Grinding of the defect is performed with an emery cake at width of 200-500 mm and across defect location. The zone of grinding should be uniform without obvious sections of different roughness, while ground surface is inspected at different angles to it with illumination not less 300 lux.
EFFECT: facilitating timely detecting of defects and increased output of qualitative rolled metal to consumers.
