FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: buckwheat seeds are placed into a perforated container and soaked in water at room temperature during 24 hours to provide for their swelling. Then the perforated container with the seeds is placed into another container filled with water; fabricated of steel, it has a detonation cord wound onto it. An explosion is produced to generate a shock wave in the water medium with a frontal pressure of 40-45 kg/cm2; after that the seeds are removed from the container and conditioned in a wet atmosphere at 4°C during 6 hours to be subsequently dried at room temperature.
EFFECT: impact of a shock wave applied to the seeds accelerates the process of the seeds pre-planting preparation and provides for the buckwheat plants improved resistance to low temperatures.
