FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to plant growth regulators. 2-(1,3-dimethyl-2,4,7-trioxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydropyrido[2.3-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)acetic acid is used as sugar beet growth stimulator, wherein non-dressed sugar beet seeds are soaked in water solution with weight fraction of 2-(1,3-dimethyl-2,4,7-trioxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydropyrido[2.3-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)acetic acid from 0.01 to 0.1% in a volume ratio of seeds : aqueous solution of 1:1 at temperature of 22 °C with exposure of 18 hours.
EFFECT: proposed use of 2-(1,3-dimethyl-2,4,7-trioxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydropyrido[2_3-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)acetic acid expands arsenal of sugar beet growth stimulants and provides an increase in seed germination energy by 34-37%, germinating capacity of seeds by 25-31%, average length of sprout by 44-60%, weight of 100 sprouts by 55-75% in relation to untreated seeds.
