FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology and can be used for higher image contrast in the IOL implantation. The IOL has optics with back and front refracting surfaces with at least one having an aspheric profile characterised by a nonzero conical constant. The lens controls aberrations of the patient's eye wherein being implanted.
EFFECT: IOL asphericity together with aberrations of the patient's eye ensures provides balance of the image contrast characterised by the estimated modulation transfer function (MTF), and the depth of focus to improve the patient's vision, including in a greater pupil.
