FIELD: physics, radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in onboard and ground radars with antenna aperture inversed synthesising (AIS). In compliance with this invention, in operation of discrete focusing filter that forms estimation of current range to target, accuracy of formed estimation is controlled and moment of revealing the error is disclosed, the error exceeding preset magnitude. This allows eliminating the effect of accumulation of uncompensated phase errors, ruling out the possibility of forming unfocused image and terminating, in due time, the process of antenna aperture inversed synthesising.
EFFECT: increased quality of image generated in AIS due to detection of time interval whereat error arises exceeding preset magnitude in focusing filter.
