SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data analysis. Present invention relates to data processing methods by selecting a curve to provide for automatic detection of data anomalies in a "data pipe" from a perspective data presentation, which allows for example for detecting data anomalies such as anomalies displayed on a screen, anomalies detected during top-down analysis, and anomalies detected during "transverse" analysis for example in summary tables and/or OLAP data cubes (data cubes created using online analytical processing technology). According to the invention, determination is made whether data differ from the forecast value set by the curve selection process, for example such as a piecewise linear function applied to the data pipe. According to the invention, a threshold value can also be used to assist in determining deviation scope which is necessary before the data value is ruled anomalous. The invention also provides the user with indication of the type and location of the detected anomaly on the perspective data presentation related to the upper level.
