FIELD: engineering processes.
SUBSTANCE: method of machining a superconducting flat-strip across the width is proposed in which a superconducting flat-strip, formed using a wide substrate, is cut without deterioration of superconducting properties and with high efficiency, which is the technical outcome of the invention. The method involves a stage for preparing a superconducting flat-strip S and a stage for cutting the superconducting flat-strip S through machining sections (31-35), each of which has two opposite cutting sections (21-30). At least two sets of machining sections (31-35) lie adjacent each other at a distance in the direction of the width of the superconducting flat-strip S so that, the superconducting flat-strip S is placed between two cutting sections (21-30). Contact places of the cutting sections (23, 26, 27, 30) in contact with one surface (S2) of the superconducting flat-strip S, lie outside in the direction of the width of the superconducting flat-strip S relative contact places of cutting sections (24, 25, 28, 29) in contact with the other surface (S1) of the superconducting flat-strip S.
EFFECT: cutting a superconducting flat-strip, formed using a wide substrate, without deterioration of superconducting properties and with high efficiency.
