FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing new ammonium dinitramide crystals (ADN), ADN crystals and energy composite based on said crystals. The method of producing ammonium dinitroamide (ammonium dinitramide, ADN) crystals from a solution containing ADN in a solvent involves addition to the solution of an effective, but not excess, amount of at least one crystal growth modifier which can reduce the form coefficient of crystals and crystallisation in a solution containing at least one crystal growth modifier using any suitable procedure. At least one crystal growth modifier is selected from salts with cations of alkali-earth metals, mainly calcium and/or magnesium salts. The method is simple, does not require special equipment and does not have pyrotechnical risk, can be realised in cheap and non-toxic solvents.

EFFECT: crystals obtained using the proposed method have an original morphological characteristic: small form coefficient, which enables their use in energy composites with high charge rate; they are less moisture-retentive compared to crystals obtained using current methods.
