FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: electrocatalytalytic coating is a mixed metal-oxide coating on an electrode base made from a valve metal containing platinum group metal oxides and an oxide of titanium valve metal, wherein the said platinum group metal oxides mainly consist of oxides of ruthenium, palladium and iridium, where (a) molar ratio of said oxide of titanium valve metal to said platinum group metal oxides in terms of metal ranges from approximately 90:10 to approximately 40:60; (b) molar ratio of said ruthenium to said iridium ranges from approximately 90:10 to approximately 50:50; and (c) molar ratio of said palladium oxide to oxides of ruthenium plus iridium in terms of metal ranges from approximately 5:95 to approximately 40:60, in terms of 100 molar percents of these metals present in the coating.
EFFECT: electrolytic coating has longer service life with retention of high efficiency of formation of hypochlorite.
