FIELD: physics; radio.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave equipment and can be used as the control element of an electronically steerable phase array antenna. The device has a section of an out-of-limit rectangular waveguide with a short circuit and a magnetic system for controlling the microwave energy field, and a longitudinally magnetised ferrite-dielectric insert inside the section of the rectangular waveguide. To achieve the given outcome, in front of the short circuit there is an additional section of a rectangular waveguide, with its length, height and width selected from the condition of the best matching of the fundamental mode of microwaves and complete attenuation of higher-order modes of microwaves. The additional section of rectangular waveguide can be hollow, with its length and height equal to (0.15±0.05)λ0, and width equal to (0.6±0.05)λ0, where λ0 is microwave length in free space.
EFFECT: wider operating frequency band of the reflective phase shifter in the temperature range from -50 to +70°C.
