The result is achieved due to that, the channel quality indicator (CQI) field is divided into multiple sub-fields to enable transmission of multiple CQI and ACK/NACK at a single carrier of an uplink.
EFFECT: signaling for odd carriers in multiple carrier systems with preservation of compatibility with user equipment designed to operate at a single carrier.
