SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems providing extended timing synchronisation and channel estimation in accordance with wireless networks. The method for timing synchronisation in a wireless receiver involves steps on which at least one character of a TDM pilot signal which is switching between global and local signal waveforms is decoded, and the character of the TDM pilot signal is processed for timing synchronisation for the wireless receiver. The channel estimation method in a wireless receiver involves steps on which at least one character of a TDM pilot signal is decoded and the character of the TDM pilot signal is received from broadcasting in OFDM mode to make channel estimation for the wireless receiver easy.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of timing synchronisation and channel estimation in a wireless network.
