SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling quality of data stream in a communication system with a digital subscriber line, comprising a transmitter, receiver and a digital subscriber line which connects the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter transmits a data stream to the receiver. The data stream modulates the data carrier frequencies in accordance with distribution of bits, which indicates the number of bits which should modulate each data carrier frequency. The receiver measures the quality of the stream and sends a request to the transmitter to reduce distribution of bits with the same value for several data carrier frequencies if the quality of the data stream is unsatisfactorily low. The transmitter accordingly reduces distribution of bits.
EFFECT: increased stability of operation when controlling data stream quality.
