FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for obtaining information on the state of vascular system in a person. A pulse processing sensor is applied on an artery to transform a pulse signal to an electric pulse. The received electric pulse modulates a carrier signal at frequency at least 500 Hz which is supplied to a sound card of personal computer, demodulated to find a time derivative of the pulse signal, to normalise the signal and its derivative by the appropriate maximum values. The signal and its derivative in each moment determine a phase state. A phase state plane is divided into at least 225(15×15) identical cells with plotting a three-dimensional histogram of the phase state distribution within a certain cell during observation. Then in an equal step of at least 5 states, secant planes are drawn with evaluating the occupancy of the bounding box that covers all the cells, containing at least one phase state in this secant plane as a relation of number of nonvacuous cells to total number of cells in the box. The derived dependence of the occupancy of the bounding box from number of the phase states is used to diagnose atherosclerosis.
EFFECT: method extends range of diagnostic aids for atherosclerosis.
