METHOD FOR ASSESSING HUMAN ARTERIAL VASCULAR TONE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/225

Abstract RU 2831902 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to angiology and cardiovascular surgery, and can be used to assess human arterial vascular tone. Occlusion cuff is put on a peripheral arterial system of a human extremity and pressurized to values from 0 to 10 mm Hg higher than diastolic pressure. Pressure pulse wave is converted to an electrical signal by means of a pneumatic sensor; the electrical signal is recorded for 10-15 seconds. Shape of the electrical signal is normalized by amplitude and time, pulse waves are divided into intervals, in each interval a region of a dicrotic wave is selected on a diastolic section, derivative local maximum in the given area and its sign are determined, derivative inclination angle in the derivative local maximum area is calculated, derivative inclination angle values are averaged by number of measured cardiac contraction cycles. Functional test is carried out, then the change in the value of the inclination angle of the derivative on the dicrotic section and its sign is determined. If the value of the inclination angle of the derivative changes, a conclusion is made on the normal physiological tone of the arterial vessels. If the angle of inclination of the derivative is maintained at the same level within the measurement error of the angle of the derivative, a conclusion is made on the insufficient physiological tone of the arterial vessels.

EFFECT: method enables increasing the accuracy of the human arterial vascular tone assessment by reducing the variability of the recorded pulse wave shape.
