FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for purifying waste water. Air is fed along a pipe 23 into a casing 4 while the air supply valve on line 23 into an additional casing 13 is closed, forcing water out of a floating chamber 7 into an accumulation chamber 8, with subsequent spillover along outlet pipe 25 into a chamber 26 for the floating product. Air is then fed into the additional casing 13, providing formation of an air crater of defined geometrical parametres in the surface layer of the liquid in casing 4. Process liquid is fed along pipe 2 and operational parametres in the device are regulated. An air jet coming out of the lower base of the additional casing 13 forms an air crater on the water surface in casing 4, where the air crater is a paraboloid of revolution whose depth and diametre depend on the speed of the air jet coming out of the base of the additional casing 13. A high speed jet of process fluid is fed into the crater from the nozzle 3 of pipe 2, where the said high speed jet interacts with the curvilinear surface of the bottom of the crater and ejects air at high pressure, thereby carrying out the aeration process and subsequent floatation.
EFFECT: invention increases degree of aeration of volume of purified water.
