FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: installation for fatigue testing annular samples of materials has a base on which there is a first disc whose lateral surface interacts with the inner surface of a sample, a rotary actuator for the first disc, second disc, an actuator for reciprocating motion of the second disc along the axis of rotation of the first disc and a loading mechanism linked to the second disc. The second disc is also placed in a guide with possibility of rotation and axial displacement. The axis of the second disc is perpendicular to the axis of the first disc. The end face of the second disc interacts with the outer surface of the sample. The guide is connected to the actuator for reciprocating motion, and the second disc has a rotation locking device.
EFFECT: increased information content owing to possibility of testing with cyclic change of the ratio of force of sliding friction to force of rolling friction on the generatrix of the outer surface of the annular samples.
