FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention fuel element with solid oxide electrolyte contains solid oxide electrolyte with electrode coating on opposite sides of electrolyte. Also surface of electrolyte is intercalationed with oxides of metal-stabilisers chosen from row yttrium, scandium, aluminium, calcium, lathanides, and uranium; depth of intercalation is 0.5-2.5 mcm, while contents of intercalationed metals-stabilisers is 2 -10 mol %.
EFFECT: expanded zone of three-phase border with increasing accessible density of load current.
