FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: electrode material comprises zirconium dioxide, metal oxide selected from the group containing calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, oxides of rare-earth metals and mix thereof, and additive of metal oxide comprising mix of oxides of bi- and tetra-valent uranium with formulation UO2-x, where x=0.2÷0.4 with the following ratio of ingredients: mix of uranium oxides - 0.2…2.0 wt %, zirconium dioxide - 2…10 wt %, metal oxide making the rest. Method of producing said electrode material from initial components comprising compounds of cobalt, zirconium and metal selected from the following group: calcium, magnesium, rare-earth metals or mix thereof. Said method includes roasting and grounding of powder, powder sintering. Additionally, it comprises preliminary sintering of material at 900 to 1250°C in neutral or oxidative atmosphere. Then follows grinding of produced material and adding thereto of uranium oxides mix and another sintering at 1100 to 1550°C.

EFFECT: higher electric conductivity and electrochemical activity of electrode material.
