FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in biotechnical and biochemical assessment of grass cover in near-bed floodplain meadows and small meadows of forests. On small river or its tributary, with measured length and area of basin, section of bed is separated with dry or floodplain meadows, and biogeocenosis is identified in coastal part with borders of tested grass cover, then on this section of near-bed meadow, along with water flow, multiple temporary hydrometric sections are marked perpendicular to bed with measurement of distances between them, besides section lines are continued to the border of grass cover across bed, and number of temporary hydrometric sections is accepted as sufficient for formation of test sites network by grass cover, besides along each temporary hydrometric section, multiple test sites are marked with alternating distances between them, then grass samples are cut and exposed to tests from each test site, on completion of grass samples tests, distances are measured from shore horizon, accepted as origin of coordinates in all temporary hydrometric sections, to centres of sites, in case height difference makes more than 10.0 cm, height of each test site centre location is measured from water surface, afterwards, length and drop are measured in bed section, and also common permanent geodesic reference point is established to monitor properties of grass cover.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurements by test results of grass samples cut from test sites on the territory of near-bed floodplain meadow, and improved functional resources for detection of law in influence of relief parametres at crop capacity of meadow grass and soil productivity in near-bed floodplain of small river or its separate tributary, which are located in specially protected areas.
