FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method includes feeding of liquid steel into center of ingot-forming equipment through submersible pouring nozzle by plane jets, pulling of ingot from ingot-forming equipment. In nozzle there are implemented off-centered outlet ports. Jets of liquid steel are directed to the side wide verges with achievement of its rates at verges with sinterskin of blank 0.25-1.0 m/s and under angle 3-8° to vertical axis, passing through center of pressure submersible pouring nozzle. Ratio of area of open flow area of central channel of nozzle and area of outlet port is 1.05-1.1. In the process of pouring of liquid steel it is implemented rotation of pouring nozzle around its axis clockwise for angle 3-15°.

EFFECT: refinement of rectangular steel ingots ensured by blending of melt in horizontal plane of ingot-forming equipment and effectiveness increase of heat exchange in ingot-forming equipment.
