FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in arranging blades on extremities of every blade of impeller. Said blades are arranged perpendicular to impeller rotational plane. Round-nose blades feature a shape, with respect to impeller rotational plane that corresponds to outer radius of impeller rotation and simulate circular clearance-free extension. Blade height h is selected subject to maximum pitch of impeller, blade thickness d is selected subject to operating conditions of impeller in medium with given density and preset axial and rotational speed of impeller. Note here that d=f(ρ, ω, Vo), where f is functional relationship, ρ is medium density, ω is impeller angular velocity, Vo is impeller forward motion speed.
EFFECT: reduced factor of blade clearance losses, increased impeller blade area and thrust properties.
