FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to chemical industry and may be used to produce hydrogen-methane mixture used for production of hydrogen, alcohols, ammonia, dimethyl ether, ethylene, for Fischer-Tropsch processes. Flow containing low alkanes, having from one to four atoms of carbon, mixed with water vapour and/or carbon dioxide, passed through heating heat exchanger, where it is heated up to temperature in the range of 650°C-700°C. Heated flow for conversion of low alkanes is passed via adiabatic reactor, filled with catalyst packing. Conversion in adiabatic reactor is carried out until methane content is not more than 33%.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify hardware equipment of the process, to reduce heat inputs and to increase serviceability of catalyst.
