FIELD: nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to atomic power engineering and can be used on enterprises manufacturing fuel assemblies (FC) for nuclear power reactors VVER-1000. The method of transporting fuel assemblies uses a satellite platform whose working surfaces form a contour, one side of which repeats the configuration of the lower edges of the grid and is covered with soft polymer material, and the other side repeats the configuration of gripping arms in a closed position, with lateral rigidity preventing contact of the satellite platform with fuel elements, with its pre-location under the lower edges of each hexagonal grid along the longitudinal axis of the fuel assembly. To transport the fuel assembly in a vertical position, a gripping device is used with possibility of interaction with two projections on the head. The soft polymer material used is caprolactam.
EFFECT: design of a method of transporting a nuclear reactor fuel assembly which prevents damage to primarily new generation the fuel assemblies with increased functionalities.
