FIELD: nuclear power engineering; fuel assemblies for water-cooled reactors. SUBSTANCE: fuel assemblies designed for use in water-cooled reactors such as those of VVER-1000 type have their spacer grids joined together and to carrying grid by spot resistance welding of walls of six cells abutting against each guide channel on both ends of cells; spot resistance welding points on cell walls are prepared for welding, they are free from surface concavities and convexities on walls of cells abutting against each guide channel and shifted from bosses toward ends of cells through distance excluding damage to bosses during resistance butt welding. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced operating reliability and quality of fuel assembly. 4 cl, 5 dwg
